Pro-con Essay: Writing


Remember - your first draft doesn't have to be perfect. You can take time to revise later.


Use a pro-con essay template to create your first draft.

1. Beginning

Capture the reader's attention.
Write an opinion statement that sums up the pros and cons of your topic.


2. Middle

Write the pro part, examining the benefits.
Write the con part, examining the drawbacks.


3. Ending

Sum up your evaluation of the topic.
Leave the reader with something to think about.
