Plot Summary: Writing


Remember - your first draft doesn't have to be perfect. You'll have time to revise later.


Use a plot summary template to create your first draft.


1. Beginning

Name the title and the author.
Give your focus statement.


2. Middle

Summarize the story, focusing on important events. Beginning, Event 1, Event 2, Event 3, Climax, Resolution.
Reflect on what the events in the plot mean.


3. Ending

Restate the focus.
Leave the reader with something to think about.
