Fictional Narrative: Prewriting

Students should let their imaginations soar as they begin to craft their fictional tales. They can use the graphic organizers below to help them plan their stories.

1. Brainstorm

Think about people, events, and settings you would like to write about.

2. Create Characters

Use a person/character chart to help you think about the characters in your narrative.

3. Map Out the Story

Use a story map to plot out just what will happen in your story.

4. Gather Details

Use a sensory chart to think about details that can be seen, heard, smelled, tasted, or felt.
