Federal & State Grants — Formula Funding

Billions of dollars in federal money is provided to schools and districts based simply on a calculation of poverty (typically the number of children receiving federal assistance in school lunches).  Below are three categories that are an especially good match to most Great Source products:

Title I – Grants to Local Education Agencies

Title IIA – Improving Teacher Quality

Title III – Language Acquisition

Where Do I Start?

Find out if you’re eligible. Title funds go to school districts that serve students below the poverty line, English Language Learners , Special Education students, or other students receiving federal assistance (such as free and reduced lunches).
Download your State Application. Federal Entitlement forms are typically posted on your state website. They list your district’s allocation by grant category, and the paperwork required for each category in order to obtain the funds.
Discuss your priorities with the District. Since Title allocations to schools are made at the district level, share information on Great Source products with your Principal and Federal Programs Administrator, and ask for funds to be allocated your school in order to purchase new materials.
Match product to grant priorities. Carefully review the information on this website, and download documentation that links Great Source products to the objectives of targeted funding.
